Eisteddfa - Ty Mawr

Dramatic views across Cardigan Bay to the distant mountain range of the Snowdonia National Park form an attractive backdrop for this idyllically located, spacious 18th-century house. Owned by the same family for many generations, it is comfortable and has been carefully maintained to offer a high standard of holiday accommodation, and stands amid its own mature, well-tended gardens with views over a man-made lake stocked with fish.
Full of charm and character, it adjoins another property, yet is completely self-contained with a separate driveway. There is a small detached holiday cottage also within the grounds for two people to let by owners.
The sheltered southern coast of the Lleyn Peninsula harbours a wealth of sandy beaches and coves; the nearest being a mere ¾ mile away.

Eisteddfa - Ty Mawr

Here a temperate climate offers excellent opportunities for outdoor activities; sailing, windsurfing and water-skiing facilities abound, and there are some beautiful walking paths along the shore. Some of Wales’ best beaches are to be found an easy drive away at the tip of the Peninsula; Abersoch and Aberdaron in particular offer wide sandy stretches popular with watersports enthusiasts. Just over a mile away, lies the coastal town of Criccieth, where there is a sandy beach at low tide and a 13th-century castle perched on a rocky headland. Across the bay the dramatically located Harlech Castle stands as another testament to more turbulent times.

For shopping, good dining and a weekly street market, visit the bustling port town of Pwllheli (6 miles), while the holiday centre of Porthmadog has a wide range of facilities for rock climbing, riding, canoeing and fishing. From here it is an easy drive to visit the beautiful Italianate village of Portmeirion, with its forest walks, gardens and sandy beach. For a novel mode of transport along the coastline, hop aboard the Blaenau Ffestiniog Narrow-Gauge Railway, which still operates on a line first opened in 1836. Excellent walking and mountaineering locally. Five golf courses nearby (negotiated rates for local course). Shops 1¼ miles.
