Pete's Eats has been feeding walkers, climbers, and mountain runners from its High Street premises in Llanberis since 1980. Enormous portions, no pretension, genuine welcome, and prices that still reflect the working-class culture from which the cafe emerged — it is a Snowdon institution in the way that only unpretentious places of great quality can be. What to Eat
The menu is long, the portions large, and the choice broadly traditional — cooked breakfasts, baked potatoes, soups, sandwiches, and daily specials. The all-day breakfast is the benchmark by which mountain-area breakfasts are measured across Eryri. The soup comes in a pot. The tea comes in a pot. Nothing is elaborate; everything is exactly what it claims to be.

The Culture
Pete's Eats is one of those rare places that functions simultaneously as a cafe and as a community institution. The noticeboards carry local event listings, climbing meet announcements, and gear for sale. The tables are occupied by walkers in various states of completion of their objectives — some warming up before Yr Wyddfa, others warming down after it. The staff know the mountain and the community. The place has been the same for four decades and shows no sign of changing.
